Welcome to Compaan Door & Operator Company. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our garage door installation, repair, and maintenance services. By engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By scheduling, requesting, or receiving services from Compaan Door & Operator Company, whether through our website, phone, email, or in person, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our services.
2. Services Provided
Compaan Door & Operator Company specializes in comprehensive garage door solutions, including:
- Installation Services: New garage door and opener installations for residential and commercial properties
- Repair Services: Emergency and scheduled repairs for garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, and related components
- Maintenance Services: Preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and tune-ups
- Replacement Services: Door panel replacement, opener replacement, and hardware upgrades
- Emergency Services: 24/7 emergency repair services (when available, subject to additional fees)
All services are performed by trained technicians in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
3. Scheduling and Appointments
Service appointments are scheduled based on availability. We will make every effort to arrive within the scheduled time window, but actual arrival times may vary due to unforeseen circumstances such as traffic, weather, or prior service complications. We will notify you as soon as possible if delays occur.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Customer Cancellations: You may cancel or reschedule a service appointment up to 24 hours before the scheduled time without penalty. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee.
Company Cancellations: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to emergencies, severe weather, or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we will notify you promptly and work to reschedule at your earliest convenience.
5. Payment Terms and Fees
Payment Due: Payment for services is due upon completion of work unless alternative payment arrangements have been made in advance and confirmed in writing.
Accepted Payment Methods: We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), debit cards, checks, and cash.
Estimates and Pricing: We provide upfront estimates for all work. Final costs may vary if additional issues are discovered during service. You will be notified and must approve any additional work before we proceed.
Late Payments: Invoiced accounts not paid within the specified terms may be subject to late fees as permitted by law.
Emergency Service Fees: After-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency services may be subject to additional fees, which will be disclosed at the time of scheduling.
6. Refund Policy
We stand behind the quality of our work and products. If you are dissatisfied with our services or products, please contact us immediately.
Refund Requests: All refund requests must be submitted in writing to customerservice@compaandoor.com Please include:
- Your name and contact information
- Service date and invoice number
- Detailed explanation of the issue
- Supporting documentation or photos (if applicable)
Refund Evaluation: Each refund request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We may schedule a follow-up inspection to assess the concern. Refunds may be issued as:
- Full or partial monetary refund
- Service credit for future work
- Re-performance of the service at no additional charge
Non-Refundable Items: The following are generally non-refundable:
- Custom-ordered or special-order products that cannot be restocked
- Services already rendered where no defect or error is found
- Emergency service call fees
7. Warranties
Service Warranty: We provide a warranty on all labor for repairs and installations, covering defects in workmanship. This warranty does not cover issues resulting from normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, unauthorized modifications, or lack of proper maintenance.
Product Warranty: New products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and product. We will provide you with warranty documentation at the time of installation. We will assist in facilitating warranty claims when applicable.
Exclusions: Warranties do not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or neglect
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from extreme weather events or acts of God
- Modifications or repairs performed by non-authorized personnel
- Commercial use of products intended for residential use
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compaan Door & Operator Company’s liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of use, revenue, or profit
- Damage to property not directly caused by our negligence
- Issues arising from pre-existing conditions not disclosed to us
- Damage caused by products or workmanship of third parties
You agree to inspect all work upon completion and report any concerns immediately. Failure to report issues within 7 days of service completion may affect your ability to make claims.
9. Customer Responsibilities
As a customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your garage door system and any known issues
- Ensure safe and clear access to the work area
- Remove or secure any vehicles, personal property, or obstacles that may interfere with service
- Disclose any pre-existing damage or concerns before service begins
- Follow all maintenance recommendations and safety instructions provided by our technicians
- Ensure that children and pets are kept at a safe distance during service
- Notify us immediately if any issues arise after service completion
10. Safety and Code Compliance
All installations and repairs are performed in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations. However, we cannot guarantee that your existing garage door system or structure meets current code requirements unless explicitly contracted to perform a full code compliance upgrade. You are responsible for ensuring that any necessary permits are obtained, though we can assist with this process upon request.
11. Property Access and Damage
Our technicians will take reasonable care to protect your property during service. However, we are not responsible for:
- Pre-existing damage to walls, ceilings, floors, or finishes
- Damage to landscaping or property outside the immediate work area
- Damage resulting from concealed conditions or structural deficiencies
- Settling of drywall, paint cracks, or similar issues common with garage door installations
We recommend that you document any pre-existing damage and bring it to our technician’s attention before work begins.
12. User Conduct
By using our services, you agree to:
- Treat our employees and technicians with respect
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Not interfere with or obstruct our technicians while they perform their work
- Not engage in any fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- Not misuse any information, materials, or resources provided by us
We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate our relationship with any customer who violates these conduct standards.
13. Privacy and Data
We collect and use personal information (name, address, phone number, email, payment information) solely for the purpose of providing services, processing payments, and communicating with you. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide our services (e.g., payment processing) or as required by law. 14. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Compaan Door & Operator Company and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. 15. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution: In the event of any dispute, we encourage you to first contact us at customerservice@compaandoor.com to seek an informal resolution.
Mediation: If informal resolution fails, both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing litigation.
Jurisdiction: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any legal action arising from these Terms must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ottawa County, Michigan.
16. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website with an updated “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of our services after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with any written service agreements or estimates, constitute the entire agreement between you and Compaan Door & Operator Company regarding our services and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, whether oral or written.
